A short recording of construction work on a ten-storey apartment building in the blackhorse road area of walthamstow, london. General construction noises. This recording was made using a sound devices mixpre6ii and a stereo pair of fel em172 mics. Low cut on the sd which in basic mode is 80hz (i think). There is some processing to this recording to ‘normalize’ the levels and light eq-ing. I do not require any credit or attribution. Steam hiss, guard's whistle clearing the driver to leave the platform, coal being shovelled into furnace, piston starts to move, speeds up, train whistle (brief), sound of the steam locomotive fades and carriage bogey noise. Lol i record my voice while playing video games now so that i can save certain things i say, you know, for real reactions to use for cartoons and stuff. A lot of my voice clips are from playing games with jumpscares, and that's where my screams and ooooooohs come from. I used to scream all the time when playing jumpscare games, but now it's turned into some weird growl thing or somethin, i dunno. So yeah, lots of clips. Made in ableton live this time, it is a multilayered loop consisting of recordings of an ak47, a 30 caliber 1918, and an m60 machine gun to make a rediculous powerful sound. A very short clicky kick drum with the high end reduced is added before the initial gunshot to make it punch more, otherwise it would sound weaker. There are two mechanical bolt sounds, one covering the upper mid range, and the other covering the extreme highs. Shell ejections and two reverb tails were mixed in at the end with some simple automated panning to make it move around the stereo field. The tempo slowly decreases to simulate barrel heating. Lots of processing. The layers were eq'ed, then ran into a software amp that is gently distorting the low and mid range. Then smashed together with ott multiband upward/downward compression to bring out the details. A maximizer was used to bring up the loudness some. Enjoy.

I needed a very specific brand of lollipop with a chocolatey center for a short film i'm working on. None of my library crunch fx sounded right, so i chomped into one myself. Just call me mr. Owl. Recorded on an iphone, about an inch from my face. Just a single crunch edited to have a little extra tail. The effect came out as a satisfying crunch with decent low-mid range. Could be pitched down a bit to act as bones, or maybe a small to medium sized tree branch. I may record more of these after i visit the dentist next.

Wrote/recorded a free dance tune at 100bpm using ableton live 9. Basic 4 chord song structure (a, e, g, d). Synth and synth sounds are a combination of ableton stock plugins (bass groove, might as well synth brass, celestial pad) and free online synth vsts (dexed, synth1 vst). This is my attempt to emulate the sound of the harmony 64 chimes that can be heard on some ice cream trucks. I used a single note from a low-quality recording from a demo of the chimes for the base synth then cleaned up the audio using audacity and set the starting pitch to "c". I then composed a short variation of a well-known song (bicycle built for two in this case). This recording was done on a balmy day in early november at the shore of a small lake in southern illinois. Even though it was november, i was in a short-sleeve t-shirt, because of the warm weather that we had been having. However, there was a huge, approaching mass of cold air from canada approaching which resulted in some tremendous, steady winds, gusting up to 40 miles an hour. I literally had my zoom h4n recorder sitting in some sedge-type grasses inches from the lake, which enabled me to get the clear, crisp sound of the wind-driven wages breaking over the small rocks and sticks. Occasionally you will hear a dull roar of the wind, which i was able to decrease a bit using my graphic equalizer, although as you listen to the entire piece you will notice that i just could not eliminate all of the “wind roar”,. Still, i think this is an effective, realistic sound-record of what happens when cold air hits head on with warm air over a lake. Again, this was recorded using the zoom h4n digital audio recorder, using the built-in stereo microphones. Enjoy.

I'm trying to create a sound that resembles captain america's shield from the marvel movies. I took a recording of a metal garbage can ringing and brought it into iris 2. I cut the attack from the envelope and added light amplitude sine wave modulation. I also set a short decay. I also layered a clean sine wave underneath the recording sample in order to give the recording more umph and body when it resonates. This is the base of captain america's shield. Layer this with metal impacts and sub sonic stings and you're all set. Please post a link if you use this file. I'm excited to see what you can do with this!. Things may be closed but tennis courts still work, and she was dressed for it. The hallway we walked through after, was empty. A lot of them are lately, we used this one. "after" was that once she finished, the visible front door gave her pause. I wasn't done, so we continued with her chest on a desk in the first open room we came to. More daylight in there, too. From the hallway we wouldn't have been seen. I decided not to tell her about the mixed-gender group of five that gathered at the window for a while, nearly two meters away to intently watch us making more of these sweet penis-in-vagina sounds, gathered by my phone, edited in audacity. Plus, about halfway through, one of my favorite sounds--even though it is man-made, that of a propeller airplane droning on through the bright, breezy saturday. Recording made on saturday may 9th, 2020 at 3pm in the afternoon. It was made in short grass just off of an asphalt trail, running through a beautiful woods at a very popular state park in illinois. Because of the covid-19 shutdown, the background noise of cars was almost nonexistent. Plus, the grass in the picnic area which surrounded the asphalt trail had not been mowed in a while, which added a nice touch of wild to the place. Equipment: sony pcmd100. Enjoy !.

Quite simply a recording of me screaming in a humorous way (if you're looking for a scream sound effect for a project with a serious tone, i doubt this one will be suitable). Even though i'm a woman, i have a feeling this sound could be used for a male character too, probably one with a voice that's not too deep. I recorded this by mistake when i was just 14! me and my sister had just been recording something on my mp3 player, then when we'd finished, i accidentally pressed record again. I don't know why, but i responded by doing a silly scream before pressing the button to stop recording! weird reaction, i know. I was probably just trying to make her laugh. I kept the very short recording ever since and in more recent years, i showed it to a friend who found it absolutely hilarious! i realised this was a such a gem of a scream that i simply had to upload it as my first ever contribution to this wonderful site i've been using for years!. I've edited out one second of silence that preceded the scream in the original version of the file. Although it's not essential because i'm releasing this into the public domain, i'd love to hear in the comments about what you use this sound for :).

When i was walking around today to catch sounds, i met a man who was mowing his lawn. I asked him if i could record him while he was mowing his lawn. He agreed and i was allowed to record him mowing. All my sounds were created for an upcoming motioncomic i created called: madagascar: alex's story. . . I did not create these from scratch, but instead, remixed stock sounds of different roars, growls, breathing, etc. And fiddled with their settings until i got a sound i felt satisfied with. Short field recordings made with my iphone in august 2013 while visiting family on one of the many small residential islands located in beaufort, south carolina (of forrest gump, the prince of tides, the big chill, and the great santini fame for any movie buffs out there). The loud buzzing is the ear-piercing mating call of the cicada insect, a sound that's hard to escape in the sultry summer months and semi-tropical environment of the south carolina low country. You can also hear tree frogs and i think maybe some birds too. Unfortunately there's also a little ambient whine of an air conditioner at times and me tip-toeing quietly around on the crunchy gravel dirt road. . . Because i didn't realize my iphone would do such a good job of picking up the sound of my footsteps. :). I was just going through my sounds, when i decided "hey. . . I'm gonna release this. " so here you all go! i'm really proud of how this turned out. This, as you can tell, is a deep eerie ambience loop. It can be used for anything you want. I like to leave things up to the imagination of the audience. How it was made:. Software used:-fl studio 20-harmor-harmless-fruity parametric eq 2-valhallaroom. So basically what i did was get a low pitch sawtooth waveform, put it through some effects like harmonization, a low pass filter with high resonance, a phaser, and a load of distortion. The main synth is made with harmor. (yes, this is all one synth. It just has a lot of dynamics. ) i then processed it with some eqing. What made this sound what it is would be the reverb. I put 2 layers of valhallaroom on the synth. One has a very short decay time, and gives it texture. The other gives it the atmosphere. To add some more depth, for the final touch, i layered a sub-bass underneath it. Which is just a low sine-wave with reverb on it, which i used harmless to make. I hope you enjoy this!.

Snippets from recordings of me playing the tanpura. Tuned to c sharp, the notes from top to bottom are g sharp, a sharp, c sharp, low c sharp. In traditional indian tuning the c sharp is the root note (first note in the scale) and referred to as sa. The fifth note (g sharp in this scale) is referred to as pa and the sixth note (a sharp) is dha. The pack contains recordings of the more traditional pa-sa-sa-sa type rythmns, as well as some experimenting with short bass lines, riffs and slap bass drones!. Before you say "a tanpura should not be played in such a way" please be comforted by the fact that this is not a traditional tanpura (and will never sound or be able to be played exactly like a traditional tanpura) it is part of the swar sangam, which combines the four drone strings of the tanpura with 15 harp strings. I am only playing the tanpura part in these recordings.

After a shaky first minute an even part follows for around 90 seconds. Interrupted by some road holes the steady sound continues, now with the frequency of the engine sound rising until the beginning of the fourth minute. Here the "main part" begins, starting with several moments of acceleration, deceleracion and breaking. From minute 5:15 to 7:35 the train reaches it's peak velocity, with only few bumps. After a short deceleration the train inceases velocity again, reaching a second peak, this time noticeably bumpier. Once in a while you can hear some element of the fitments rattling nervously along the track, depending on the constitution of the railways and the overall situation. During the last two minutes the train keeps on decelerating slowly and continuously until the end. Recorded in stereo with a portable stereo recorder (zoom); enhanced in audacity using a parallel dynamic eq (tdr nova), a compressor (vos density mkiii) and a binaural spacializer (auburn panagement).
